Pair of Vintage Large Satsuma-Style Peacock & Floral Floor Vases Dimensions: Approx. 108cm high × 33cm wide each.
An impressive pair of large vintage Satsuma-style ceramic floor vases, probably late 20th century, each of baluster form with tall neck, scalloped flared rim and applied gilt-effect bird-form handles. Extensively decorated in polychrome and raised gilt with large panels depicting peacocks amongst flowering plants and mountainous landscapes, with further panels of birds and blossom, surrounded by elaborate floral, foliate and ornamental borders.
Probably produced circa 1970s–1990s as decorative Oriental export ware in the Japanese Satsuma tradition. Country of manufacture and maker unconfirmed.
Dimensions: Approx. 108cm high × 33cm wide each.
Condition: Used vintage condition with some surface wear, marks and rubbing to the decoration and gilding. No obvious major cracks or chips
