Collection of Madagascar to Mauritius Airmail & Commercial Covers, 1920s–1950s

An attractive collection of approximately 80+ commercial airmail and registered covers, chiefly originating from Tananarive (Antananarivo), Tamatave and Diego Suarez (Madagascar), nearly all addressed to Messrs. Adam & Co., Port-Louis, Mauritius.

Features:

Covers franked with a wide range of Madagascar colonial issues, including single frankings, multiple frankings, and high-value airmail combinations.

Numerous “Par Avion” and registered usages with boxed and handstamped markings, plus manuscript annotations.

Various postmarks, notably Tananarive R.P., Tamatave, and Diego Suarez.

Business correspondence reflecting the Clan Line / shipping trade between Madagascar and Mauritius.

One large-format cover (1930s) bearing a franking of 10+ stamps, including 55c, 5f, and “Poste Aérienne” issues.

Multiples including blocks and strips of 3–6 stamps on cover.

Condition:
Generally fine to very fine for commercial mail of the period. A few with minor folds or wear, not detracting from philatelic or postal history value.
