Portugal, 20 Escudos, 1978 (P#179a) – green issue featuring Admiral Gago Coutinho, famed navigator and aviator; reverse with navigational instruments. Serial ABM022861.
Portugal, 50 Escudos, 1980 (P#180a) – multicoloured, portrait of Infanta D. Maria; reverse with Palace of Sintra. Serial 1K674242.
Portugal, 20 Escudos, 1964 (P#173a) – brown/green, portrait of Saint Anthony; reverse with church architecture. Serial EPR03167.
Portuguese Guinea (Guinea-Bissau), 50 Escudos, 1971 (P#37a) – Banco Nacional Ultramarino issue, portrait of João de Tristão at right; ornate guilloche patterns. Serial 923767.
These notes represent both domestic Portuguese designs and a scarce colonial issue shortly before independence movements reshaped Lusophone Africa.
Condition: EF to UNC, crisp paper and vibrant colour throughout.
