Wincanton Auctions In House Packing and Postal Service

We offer a limited in house packing and postal service for items that are not considered fragile or easily damaged ie glass and china and that comply with the dimensions defined by the Royal Mail for large letters up to Medium Size parcels not exceeding 20kg in weight as detailed below.

We charge a fee for packing items, packing materials used (recycled where possible), label printing and arranging for items to be delivered to the post office or for collection as appropriate.

There is a £10 + VAT packing charge per parcel under 2kg (Or padded envelope), and £15 + VAT packing charge per parcel (over 2kg). The packing fee is in addition to the cost of postage.

We will use either Royal Mail Tracked 24 Signed for which provides compensation of up to £150 or Royal Mail Special Delivery with compensation up to £750 depending on the value of the items to be posted. The default will be Tracked 24 Signed for unless the value of the items exceeds the insured value (or is requested) when Special Delivery will be used.

We pack all items with care however once posted we cannot take responsibility for any damage to items that occurs in transit which must be taken up by the buyer with the postal service.

We do not pack items that exceed these weights or dimensions although multiple lots may be split into additional boxes with the packing and labelling fee applying to each parcel.

Agreement to post all or any items is at our discretion at all times.
